The Battle of Gettysburg was fought between the Union and the Confederacy from July 1st to July 3rd in 1863. It resulted in the largest amount of casualties of the entire Civil War. Many agree, however, that this battle was the turning point of the war. Today, the Battlefield of Gettysburg serves as a 6,000-acre Civil War military park that honors the thousands of soldiers that fought and gave their lives in this battle.

Learning about this significant battle is an important way to get more strongly acquainted with the country’s heritage. Conveniently, a visitor to the Battlefield of Gettysburg will find that there are multiple ways to tour the park and learn about this historic event.
