Whether you’re planning a spring break trip or just want to get out and about this spring, spring’s warmer weather and longer days present the perfect opportunity to explore new places. You don’t have to venture down south or spend big bucks, however, as there are plenty of spring road-trip destinations in the Midwest. Here are a few that we recommend.
The state of Wisconsin has over 15,000 lakes, so you’re sure to find beautiful wildlife and plenty of outdoor recreation opportunities throughout the state. Door County is a popular spot in May for locals and out-of-towners, as the peninsula boasts lilac fields, quant towns, and shopping venues.
If you’ve never been to Chicago, spring is the perfect time to do so, as the weather is much more temperate than its freezing winters and hot summers. From the Art Institute of Chicago to Shedd Aquarium, the Windy City has something for everyone. Since it’s located on the shore of Lake Michigan, it a hotspot for paddleboarding, going on dinner cruises, and more.
If you’re a bird lover, you might want to consider attending Warbler Weekend (May 10-12) at Minnesota’s Frontenac State Park. Warbler Weekend is hosted by the Saint Paul Audubon Society and features activities like guided bird walks. You can camp at Frontenac, or try out some of the state’s other outdoor venues, like Carley State Park (known for its lovely Virginia bluebell flowers) or Beaver Creek Valley State Park.
Stop by H&H Chevrolet if you’re in need of a new Chevy to transport you to and from these Midwest destinations. We can also schedule a maintenance appointment for your current vehicle, to help ensure your safe travels.

Who says an electric car can’t be fast? The Chevrolet eCOPO Camaro concept fuses the performance muscle car enthusiasts want with the eco-friendly efficiency that environmentalists crave. And it can jet down a drag strip in as little as 9 seconds.
In its initial appearance, the electric Chevrolet Camaro tore down a quarter-mile strip in just 10.14 seconds. That was just at 80-percent power though. The engineers behind the electric model knew they could do better.
The electric Chevrolet Camaro concept features a powertrain that generates 700 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque. The instant torque isn’t definitely impressive. After all, how often does a muscle car manage to pop a wheelie off the starting line?
Not only is the concept fast, but it’s also quiet, like most other electric vehicles. The 800-volt system is comprised of four 175-pound batteries located in the rear of the Camaro for enhanced stability.
As electric cars increase in popularity around the world, the electric Chevrolet Camaro concept might make its way to dealership lots in the near future. Stay tuned for more news on this exciting concept car. In the meantime, stop by to take one of our current Chevy Camaro models for a test drive.
Motor Trend has released a report that Chevrolet is working on a small crossover addition to its lineup—and that it may bear the TrailBlazer name. According to the sources, the new Chevy TrailBlazer will fit between the subcompact crossover Trax and the compact SUV Equinox.
Chevrolet has yet to release any information about whether the new TrailBlazer is anything more than a rumor, but allegedly, when asked about the possibility, Chevy marketing director Steve Majoros implied there was truth to it and said to wait for news over the next few months.
Chevy is of the opinion at you “can’t have too many” crossover and SUV options, given the immense popularity of utility vehicles right now and the demand for crossovers that fit easily on city streets. So whether or not it will carry the TrailBlazer name, a compact crossover between the Trax and Equinox is probably inevitable.
Motor Trend has theorized that spy shots of unreleased Chevy vehicles, previously thought to be the 2020 Trax, could, in fact, be the possible TrailBlazer—especially since the Trax and TrailBlazer would be so close in size that they would be hard to distinguish from each other while camouflaged. The Trax is set to debut a new generation for the upcoming model year, though, so the mystery crossover could easily be the 2020 Trax too.
If you can’t wait for a new TrailBlazer to find an SUV for your personal fleet, contact us at H&H Chevrolet to learn more about what is available now.
Southeast Pennsylvania has tons of museums that showcase Native American history and culture, so if you’re looking for a way to spend a Sunday afternoon with the family that will be both fun and educational, you have plenty of options to choose from.
Museum of Indian Culture
The Museum of Indian Culture, located in Allentown, is a small museum with an impressive collection of Native American artifacts, particularly stone weapons and tools. The museum seeks to give its visitors a realistic look at the daily life of regional tribes.
Indian Steps Museum
The Indian Steps Museum in Airville combines local and national Native American history and culture and is located in the former home of John Vandersloot, an enthusiast who spent decades curating a collection of Native American artifacts. The museum is located on the bank of the Susquehanna River, so it’s also a great place to see the sights!
State Museum of Pennsylvania and Reading Public Museum
Though the State Museum of Pennsylvania and the Reading Public Museum aren’t just Native American museums, they both have large exhibits and collections devoted to the culture and art of Native American tribes around the country. From right here in our home state of Pennsylvania to the Native tribes of Central America, these museums cover a huge range of Native culture and history, both literally and figuratively.

Sunday, May 26, 2019, marks the 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500. Proudly carrying the Bowtie Brand of Chevrolet into this premier event of the 2019 IndyCar Series is the two-time Formula 1 champion, Fernando Alonso.
Alonso’s McLaren Racing entry will feature a Chevrolet 2.2-liter twin-turbocharged direct-injected V6 IndyCar engine. The 134 cubic-inch engine has a road-street course horsepower rating of 675 mph. Since returning to the IndyCar series seven seasons back, Chevy’s V6 engines have claimed victories in 73 of 118 races.
Alonso himself has an impressive record with a seven-year win rating of over 70 percent. In addition to his F1 championships in 2005 and 2006, he has claimed 97 podium victories placing him sixth overall in the series. In 2006, Alonso claimed a victory in Monaco and earlier this year he won the grueling 24 Hours of Le Mans. Should he take victory this year in the Indianapolis 500 he would be one of only two racers to ever claim victory in all three of these prestigious races known together as the Triple Crown of Motorsports.
Years of driving experience from Fernando Alonso combined with decades of Chevrolet engineering could see history made at this year’s 2019 Indianapolis 500. If you’re looking for the perfect car to take you to victory on your daily commute, contact us at H&H Chevrolet.
Pennsylvania is a beautiful place to live in warmer months, but sometimes the winters are pretty intense with snow and ice. However, you shouldn’t let that hold you back. The Keystone State has many outdoor activities to entice you out from the warm fireplace for some chilly fun.

Hot chocolate is the drink of the season for a reason: when we come inside from the cold after building a snowman or making snow angels, hot chocolate warms us up, no matter what age we are. Make your winter adventures even more exciting with these fun hot cocoa upgrades.
Spice it up
One way to upgrade your hot chocolate is to add spices. You’ve had the pumpkin spice latte—why not try throwing some pumpkin pie spice in with your cocoa? Add cinnamon for more subtle flavoring, or even try cayenne pepper for a spicy kick.
Stir in herbs
Mint is the perfect herb to add to hot chocolate—just crush up a handful of fresh mint or even add peppermint extract to get that cool flavor alongside the rich cocoa. You can also try adding other dessert-friendly herbs, like basil.
Make it creamier
When it comes to hot cocoa, the creamier the better. Add a tablespoon of peanut butter, almond butter, or whatever your favorite nut butter is to make your hot chocolate super thick and creamy, without detracting from the flavor. You can even try adding some cookie butter to make it sweeter!
Of course, nothing beats the classic additions, like a bit of vanilla extract for that silky taste and an espresso shot or two to keep you from falling asleep by the fire as you watch the snow fall outside. (Don’t give this one to the kids, though!)
