The first step in achieving your 2018 New Year resolution is to be realistic when deciding what you want to strive for. For example, deciding to visit all seven continents with limited funds and time isn’t a realistic goal and is one most people will fail. Choosing something realistic, like kicking a bad habit, increases your odds of success.

Change Slowly

In order to achieve you’re goal, you’ll want to start small. If you want to stop smoking, start by cutting down on your number of daily cigarettes, then stop smoking for one day out of the week, and increase it from there. Changing slowly is the best way to ensure that you’ll achieve your goal by the year’s end.

Don’t Fret Failure

Failure is a part of life, and it’s only natural to mess up a few times. Messing up on your diet or failing to keep to your routine doesn’t mean you should stop entirely. Pick up where you left off and keep striving to tackle your resolution!
