Bolt Production For The World

It is no secret that our current method of powering vehicles is not sustainable: Gasoline is a limited resource, and it pollutes our environment every time we use it. Automakers have heavily been investing in alternative fuel source research in the last several decades, leading to innovative vehicles like Chevy’s Malibu Hybrid, Volt plug-in hybrid, and Bolt EV.

No More Gasoline

As part of its commitment toward a future where we don’t rely on gas-powered vehicles, Chevrolet will be upping Chevrolet Bolt production at its Orion Assembly plant near Detroit. This comes from Mary Barra, GM CEO and a major proponent of electric vehicles. Barra did not state how much of a production increase the plant would see, but she did indicate that this would create jobs in Detroit.

Adopting Electric Vehicles

“I think it’s [adoption of electric vehicles] going to happen more quickly than decades. As more and more people recognize that we have the right range, understand that we have a charging infrastructure so they don’t think you’re going to be stranded, I think you’re going to see EV adoption continue,” Barra told CNBC in an interview.

Charge Stations Coming Your Way

General Motors will also be working with those in the energy industry and other key stakeholders to develop a wider network of EV charging stations here in the United States. If you want to get a head start on the future, come talk to us at H&H Chevrolet in Shippensburg, PA about the Chevrolet Bolt and how you can drive one home.
