While some people might imagine millennials as car-hating, ridesharing, bike riders, most of them still drive and own cars. In fact, the car brand millennials prefer the most is Chevrolet.
In a recent survey done by AutoList.com, they asked about 1,750 car shoppers three questions. The first question was their age, the second question was what vehicle brand they would purchase now, and the third was what brand they currently own.
After the results were tallied, Chevrolet came out as the preferred brand for both millennials and the younger buyers of Generation Z.
Reason For The Preference
“Chevy is doing a great job of trading on its reputation as a no-nonsense, affordable brand while at the same time adding to its vehicles the stuff younger buyers covet,” said Chase Disher, an analyst at Autolist.com. “This includes things like Wi-Fi hotspots, Apple CarPlay™, and Android Auto™ connectivity, wireless phone charging and an intuitive infotainment system.”
To show that this wasn’t just a fluke, QuoteWizard did its own study and got similar results. The study found that young buyers are drawn to Chevy, in part because of affordable MSRPs. In addition, the Chevrolet Impala was ranked 6 out of 10 as one of the “most popular cars driven by millennials.”
